Credit Repair: Stop Collection Agencies From Calling Your Home

The credit repair process can be very intense, especially when collection agencies keep calling your home. If you are tired of them harassing you at your home, at work, or at your family's house, then tell them so. Did you know that all you have to do is send the collection agency a certified letter telling them not to call you, your family members, of your work place. Let them know that if they want to talk with you, they will have to contact you by mail ONLY. That's right! And under the law, collection agencies are not allowed to call you on the phone once you have written them a letter.

As with all correspondence to collection agencies, keep a copy and send all letters certified mail with signature confirmation.

Fixing your credit is just around the corner. Keep up the good work.

Bonus Information:

Did you know that if the collection agency continues to call you on the phone after you have sent them a letter, you can sue them for $1000 in court.
I will go into more detail on this issue in the next post.

Credit Repair : Staying One Step Ahead of the Collection Agencies

Repairing you credit can be a simple thing to do, most of the time. Then again it may take some real courage and persistence. When you are fixing your credit, you must be aware of some of the tricks that these lowlife collection agencies can pull.

Often times collection agencies will get a judgment put against you illegally. How you ask? Sometime the will go down to your local court house and have a summons sent to you. The fraud comes into play when you have never received a court summons. Then next thing you know you have a judgment against you.

I suggest you visit you local court house or their website to find out if anyone has a judgment on you. If so, you can request a retrial. You can appeal the judgment.

Once you see you see that you have a judgment, but you say to yourself that you never received a summons , then you have ground to get an appeal.

These agencies will send the summons to the wrong address on purpose, so that you can't show up for court. What scum bags!

Repairing your Credit : Did You Know That....

If you are trying to repair your credit, there are some things that you should know. Did you know that your debt has a statue of limitations. That's right a collection agency can't even legally collect on a debt if it is over 3-7 years old depending on which state you live in.

In Pennsylvania the statue of limitations is 4 years.
In Delaware it's 3 years.

I will post a link later which tells you how long the statue is for each state.

Credit repair can be a very long road sometimes. But stay hopeful. Repairing your credit is only a typed letter away. Write a letter to these collection agencies telling them that the statue of limitations has run out and that they should remove this item from your credit report. This will help in repairing your credit. Fix your credit today. Don't wait any longer.

Credit Repair: Sample Dispute Letter to Credit Agency

In order to fix your credit, there are some things that you should know. First you have to get a copy of your credit report. And if you see any discrepancies at all, then you should report it to the credit bureaus, you know the big 3, TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. Make sure you get a credit report from all three agencies.

One you have the credit report; write a letter to all three of the credit bureaus. Make sure to include your information and the information of the account. Be sure to tell why you are disputing the account and what proof you have.

The credit bureaus have 30 days to respond to your claim. Make sure that you only handle one item at a time. When you type your letter sign your name in blue ink.

Note:
It is very important that you send all of your correspondence by certified mail. Make sure you choose the signature confirmation option too. Sending letters through certified mail allows you to have proof that you mailed a letter and when they received it.

Make sure you make a copy of the letter that you are sending them. Please save a copy on your computer, and save a hard copy in folder. You should also invest in a zip drive to save all letters on here too in case something goes wrong with your computer.

Below is a sample letter that you should send to the big 3. This is to remove inaccurate information.

Sally Jackson

Dear Credit Bureau,

This letter is a formal complaint that you are reporting inaccurate credit information.
I am very distressed that you have included the below information in my credit profile due to its damaging effects on my good credit standing. As you are no doubt aware, credit reporting laws ensure that bureaus report only accurate credit information. No doubt the inclusion of this inaccurate information is a mistake on either your or the reporting creditor's part. Because of the mistakes on my credit report, I have been wrongfully denied credit recently for a (ABD Car LOAN), which has negatively impacted my lifestyle

(You can include your proof here or not).

I'm sure you'll agree it needs to be removed ASAP The following information therefore needs to be verified and deleted from the report as soon as possible:
CREDITOR AGENCY, acct. 2900-44444-124
Please delete the above information as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,
